PROMETHEUS BROWN

Prometheus Brown fka Geologic aka Geo is a Seattle-based artist best known for his work as a rapper with Blue Scholars and The Bar, and most recently as a solo musician with Beatrock Music.

In 2013 he co-founded the Seattle Filipino pop-up restaurant series Food & Sh*t with his wife Chera. This evolved into Hood Famous Bakeshop (Ballard) in 2016, followed by Hood Famous Cafe + Bar (Chinatown-International District) in 2019.

Also a DJ, since 2023 he has appeared on FM radio as a fill-in DJ for KEXP and is a member of SEA Vinyl Society.

As a writer, he has written reviews and op-eds for various online and print publications, including Al-Jazeera and The Seattle Times. An avid photographer, he co-founded Rappers w/ Cameras, an event series and zine that ran from 2011-2014.

A second-generation Filipino American multi-hyphenate, Prometheus Brown works across multiple creative disciplines, telling stories of migrants, mythology, and the marginalized. Themes of placemaking, world-building, community, ritual, and adaptation are woven throughout his projects—whether through lyrics, playlists, menus, or spaces.

He is a former artist-in-residence at Town Hall Seattle (2013) and exhibit coordinator at the Wing Luke Museum (2002-2006). Currently, he is working on a photoessay book as well as writing Brownouts, a newsletter on music, photography and culture. In 2025, it all comes full circle as he prepares to release new music written and recorded over the last few years.
